Seismic attribute maps; application to structural interpretation and fault seal analysis in the North Sea Basin
Seismic attribute maps (dip magnitude, dip azimuth, reflective amplitude, etc.) are a relatively new tool for structural geological analysis (Bouvier et al. 1989; Dalley et al. 1989; Ruijtenberg et al. 1990;Hoetz and Watters 1992). They are being used increasingly in the hydrocarbon industry, both for regional structural 'lineament' mapping (Oudmayer and De Jager 1993; Demyttenaere et al. 1993), and also for the more detailed fault mapping undertaken during reservoir characterization (Hoetz and Watters 1992).
