For the purpose of precisely observing and characterizing the pattern of braided channel in Zhenzhuchong Formation which locates in the J Zone of North Sichuan Basin, this article firstly provides the analysis of the geological conditions and the geophysical characteristics of the J Zone hereof, then uses the comprehensive methods, meaning the integrated methods of three different research methods which are discontinuity test, post-stack amplitude attributes analysis and seismic facies analysis technique categorized waveforms according to neural network, to research on the channel distributions. Meanwhile, this article also gives analysis of these three research methods respectively. Among which, discontinuity test is the application of a new algorithm of local structure entropy using EPS software to re-compute the coherent data, which is more advantageous than the common practice of the coherency cube technology. Afterwards, using the comprehensive research results, portray the channel pattern with 3-dimensional visualization technology, which obtains fair effects recognizing the regularities of braided channel distribution and is important to the subsequent reservoir prediction work.
