In this paper, we propose an integrated model-building framework that evaluates the accuracy of the Earth model by simultaneously considering seismic data, geological information, and rock physics principles. We transform prestack seismic data into image space, where geological and lithological interpretations can be readily updated. These interpretation results are then used to generate multiple realizations of plausible VTI models, based on the regional geological and rock physics assumptions. In the next iteration of seismic inversion, uncertainties in these multiple realizations are summarized and used to provide additional constraints to the seismic inversion. Consequently, we obtain Earth models that are consistent with all available information. We demonstrate the proposed inversion framework on a 3-D Gulf-of-Mexico dataset.
