This abstract presents the results of the first attempt at inverting data from the Electromagnetic Multifrequency method to resolve 2D structures. This method's observations are the radial magnetic component of the field generated by a very large loop of current on the surface, at distances of several kilometers, and at a wide range of frequencies. The method is being applied with good results in sedimentary basins in Brazil. We present examples of 2D inversion of synthetic data, applying two regularization methods. The results give an indication of the resolving power of this kind of data to delineate bi-dimensional geoelectric structures.
