Summary:
This technical paper aims to demonstrate the use of magnetic field in reducing the viscosity of high wax (paraffin) content crude oil. Waxy particles when came under the influence of strong magnetic field for short period of time, they broke into smaller particles and thus due to their breakdown the resistance to flow between its adjacent layer were also decreased. The experiment was performed on three different magnetic fields and was confirmed that the rate of viscosity decline is directly proportional to the applied field strength.
