Summary:
Seismic imaging in foothills area is acknowledged as complex due to the three main challenges, the statics problem, extreme low signal to noise ratio, and depth velocity model building problem. This paper designed a tailored workflow to resolve them in Tarim basin located in western China. The combination of innovative approach like 4D first-break QC and editing, analysis of the noise attenuation tests by examining the stacking response, Migrated from buried surface helped to improve the imaging to achieve the structural imaging in this case study.
