Summary:
It is well known that conventional DC logging methods open to a number of problems concerned
with the “paradox of anisotropy” and model equivalence. These problems exist only due to
simultaneous axial symmetry of excitation fields and strata. To cover this lack of conventional
methods authors offer to use logging tools with nonaxial sources. The theory of such tools was
developed. Mathematical modeling of galvanic tool responses in 1D and 2D isotropic and
anisotropic strata was performed. It was shown that logging tool based on nonaxial symmetry of
excitation field is free from traditional methods faults and can be used to understand complex
anisotropic strata.
