To solve the problem of radioactive waste disposal we considered the region of the Ukrainian crystalline shield, since in world practice it is accepted that granite mass represents sufficiently favorable conditions for the construction of underground storage facilities for the long-term storage of medium and high-level RAW in a granite massif. The primary task in this connection is to study the nature of modern geodynamic processes to determine the location of monolithic, tectonically weak damaged blocks of rocks suitable for the construction of such responsible objects as the RAW storage facilities. The solution of this problem is associated with the mapping of faulted high permeability zones FHPZs, that are subjected to cracked fault zones and determine possible ways of increased migration of radioactive releases. The proposed complex technique STAGR can be regarded as the most effective (for informative, operative and processing of data and the value of work) preliminary stages of study of geological conditions for RAW storage ahead of a costly and lengthy special regional studies. An example of the work on prospecting for site for the disposal of radioactive waste within the Korosten crystalline massif was presented.
