Summary:
Elaboration of methodical and information basis of landscapes geochemical status monitoring (study of chemical elements and their compounds content) is realized by the Ukrainian State Geological Research Institute (UkrSGRI). Ukraine`s territory is characterized by extremely difficult natural and technogenic conditions. Therefore landscape components (soil, ground waters of uppermost aquifer, bottom sediments) quality is defined both natural and technogenic factors. For scientifically reasonable assessment and forecast of landscape status in such difficult conditions the problem-oriented GIS database was created. The database includes information on natural conditions defining a geochemical status of landscapes; information on technogenic factors influencing geochemical status of landscapes; data of landscape components analyzes (soil, rocks of aeration zone, ground waters, surface water, bottom sediments of rivers and reservoirs, vegetation) and normative and methodical documents. The database allows us to evaluate and predict the geochemical status of landscapes.
