The results of studies of 48 samples from Runovshchynska area (Ukraine) located within the Poltava region are analyzed in the paper. The authors conducted measurements of velocities of quasi-compressional wave and fast and slow quasi-shear waves for the samples of cubic shape. Results of the measurements were processed with use of the authors’ proprietary software. The predominating amount of samples were characterized by the transversely-isotropic type of symmetry texture (79%) and 10 samples – by the rhombic type. The textures were divided into the planar and axial types of symmetry according to the results of analysis of the acoustic ellipsoid parameters. Majority of the samples has the planar symmetry type (26 samples) and the smaller amount of samples has the axial symmetry type (22 samples). Accordingly to the results of conducted calculations all investigated samples are mostly low-anisotropy (24 samples) and medium-anisotropy (17 samples). Only 7 samples were determined to have the integral coefficient of the acoustic anisotropy Аµ higher than 10%. In particular, the average value of Аµ is 6,07 % and Аµ varies from 1,14 % to 18,99 %. High acoustic anisotropy of the investigated rocks shows the presence of sequences of different physical nature in them.
