Does the use of PAM polymer in nanoparticle-surfactant stabilized N2 foam enhanced the stability in EOR?Normal access

In this paper three stabilizers of polymer, surfactant and nanoparticle have been used simultaneously for the first time to increase the foam stability and while investigating the different impacts and reactions between them, calculating the surface tension changes over time are done on foam stability. Studies indicate that when the polymer is added to the system containing surfactant and nanoparticle, the third protective layer is formed in addition to surfactants and nanoparticles, which reduces the strong force of capillary applied by plateau border to the lamella and the fluid inside the film remains more stable and thus the stability is improved. In this study, two acid (〖TiO〗_2 and NiO) and an amphoteric (〖Fe〗_2 O_3) nanoparticles, two different surfactants, one anion (AOS) and one cationic (CTAB) are applied. The results show that the highest foam stability is associated with 〖Fe〗_2 O_3 nanoparticle at a concentration of 0.06wt% in the presence of polymer and NaCl salt at concentrations of 0.06wt% and 60000ppm respectively. It is to mention that this stability is created by AOS anionic surfactant with a low concentration of 0. 1wt%, and the results of surface tension proves this claim.
