We combine microfluidic multiphase flow experiments in rocks with 3D X-ray microtomography to better understand oil trapping mechanisms at the pore scale. Capillary desaturation tests are run on a series of water-wet and oil-wet sandstone samples, fully imaged in 3D at each step of the experiment. The processed data provides information on global saturations evolution as well as local information of connectivity and pore occupancy.
