Summary:
The report is devoted to the study of the problem of groundwater contamination by petroleum products in the territory of the settlement Solotvyno, located in the Carpathian region of Ivano-Frankivsk region in Ukraine. Such sources as a suspended well, an oil pipeline and a gas station were considered to be the alternative sources of pollution. A system of geochemical and geophysical methods was used in the process of studying the pollution area, possible sources of pollution and ways of migration of petroleum products. According to the results of the geochemical study, it is established that the source of pollution is located in the territory of the gas station. Geophysical study allowed to establish the direction of petroleum products filtration in the water-bearing horizon, to discover the ancient river bed, the location of which is consistent with the trajectory of the distribution of groundwater and, respectively, pollution from gas stations to the contaminated wells
