Summary:
Significant attention devoted during the past decades to the scientific understanding of complex geophysical phenomena, and technology needed for waste disposal handling. It is, a new geophysical monitoring methods, and waste management over very long periods. Disposals are subjected to vibrations or cyclic force, first of all this is seismic events. But behavior of materials under such conditions differs from that of static loads, where the failure criteria to use, are based on the static yield stress. The fatigue stress due to cyclic loading is generally smaller than the yield stress. A visco-elastoplastic model with fractional order derivatives presented, may be an appropriate tool for studying the long term strength of viscoelastic clays and sandstones, etc. numerically.
