We examined multicomponent seismics in glacial overdeepened Alpine valleys using vibrator sources. Whereas P-waves gave stable results, S-waves delivered far more variable results – mainly depending on the surface waves. The best S-wave image was obtained from transverse source and receiver orientation, whereas the mixed components indicate wave conversion.
