Summary:
During the propagation of seismic wave, not only frequency changes, but also phase. In interpretation and processing, zero-phase data has a lot of advantages, this make phase correction indispensable. Using statistical theory to do phase correction is an important approach, in this paper, we reviewed that using maximum kurtosis and maximum squared skewness as criterion to determine zero phase correction value. With the characteristics that signal energy is constant even after phase rotation, then we can simplify the criterion formula, when combined with simple algebraic manipulations, phase estimation will be more directly, and reduced large amount of calculation. Synthetic and field data test also demonstrate that new method can be applied to nonstationary data with sliding window.
