Traditional pore pressure prediction methods, just considering P-wave velocity, are difficult to obtain accurate pressure prediction results to guide drilling operations. Therefore, in this abstract, we present a method and workflow to predict pore pressure directly based on the P-wave velocity, S-wave velocity and density, which inverted from pre-stack seismic data. The method can not only improve the accuracy of prediction results, but also reduce the uncertainty and multiplicity of pore pressure prediction and reservoir description using seismic data. Finally, we apply this method into a shale oil real field of Qianjiang depression in the middle of Jianghan salt-lake basin, China. The real data application result verifies this method is effective and accurate for pore pressure prediction in shale oil reservoir.
