Summary:
First in Neuquen Basin nodal single-sensor multicomponent recording was carried out as an add-on to the production P-wave survey. Despite operational difficulties the area proved to be favorable for recording high-quality horizontal component datasets. 5D regularization was applied to correct for non-homogeneous distribution of offsets and azimuths due to asymmetrical nature of the survey. All three components of the dataset were processed simultaneously to ensure that the registered data were treated as a full vector wavefield. Several structural features were identified within the reservoir and used as a QC when selecting processing parameters for all three components. Final pre-stack time migrated gathers and volumes were used to generate multiple kinematic and dynamic attributes for seismic anisotropy analysis.
