We always wondered why our journal ‘Geophysical Prospect-ing’ and generally all geophysics journals have so little content concerning the actual recording of geophysical data and es-pecially its instrumentation. Of course, we cannot expect as many new developments on the instrumentation side as we would see when it comes to the processing of data. The at-titude of keeping new developments secret is possibly also contributing to the lack of publications. There are most likely more patents found on geophysical instrumentation and ac-quisition methods than papers explaining them or showing improved results in the geophysical literature.
